You guys rock! What a big initial year you had, eh? Way more exploring than we did in our first year out, and it sounds like you know how to take it slow sometimes, like staying 3 weeks in Jacksonville last month. How many miles was 2009?

Oops! Sorry for the late reply. Yep…we had a lot (maybe too much) on our to-do list for 2009. But, it was a blast and someday, we hope to get back out west. I think 2010 will be more of an east coast year. As for how many miles we totaled, I have no idea. I think we figured out the number before but I honestly don’t remember. It was a lot. I do know that. This year won’t even come close to that number! But, I look forward to my east coast adventures! And, we will definitely be slowing down!

    Hi Lani!
I’m thrilled to have found your site. We are in the process of selling our house and getting our rig and should be on the road very soon! We’re originally from NH (I see that you’ve settled there for now) and now live in TX. Thrilling to take family life on the road.
How did you do this map? I LOVE it!

Thanks, Sarah! Congrats on the decision to hit the road – it’s an amazing experience and your family will love it. What an exciting time! Glad to find your site(s) as well. I love meeting other families who are on the road. It’s nice to share experiences, learn from one another, and just chat with people who get this lifestyle. Look forward to following your adventures.

The map is through Google and I still have a lot to learn about it. I know it is capable of doing so much more but so far I’ve only conquered the placemarks and getting the map onto my site. :) It’s been a nice way to document all the great places we’ve seen.

Take care and best of luck as you sell your house and prepare for this next adventure.
